We’re thrilled to announce that P&W has received a prestigious International Visual Identity Award (IVIA) for our work on Xceler8, Addo Play’s brand of officially licensed, intricately detailed radio-controlled vehicles.
Our creative team earned the silver award for developing Xceler8’s bold and dynamic visual identity from the ground up. The design captures the energy, technology, and adventurous spirit at the heart of the brand, appealing to vehicle enthusiasts of all ages- from kids to collectors.
This latest award for Xceler8 is a proud addition to our 100+ design and marketing awards and our ever-growing portfolio of innovative brand identity work. For over 30 years, we have been at the forefront of designing distinctive logos and visual identities that stand out in competitive markets. From crafting logos for FMCG brands to creating brand marques for major grocery retailers, we’ve built a reputation for delivering compelling, creative solutions that resonate with consumers.
We’re proud to have won an IVIA in the body’s 10th year as it helps us to showcase our work on an international stage.
So, what’s the award all about?
Well, the IVIA is a global competition celebrating excellence in visual identity design. Launched in 2014, it focuses specifically on logos, branding, and visual systems that define brands. With categories spanning corporate, consumer, non-profit, government, and more, designers can submit work that aligns with their projects. Open to agencies, studios, freelancers, and in-house teams, entries are judged by industry experts on creativity, innovation, and effectiveness. IVIA’s international reach makes it a leading platform for showcasing outstanding branding work.
This isn’t our first IVIA win, in fact, we won Gold a few years ago for another Addo brand, Little Lot, and before that, another Gold for our work on the Nevsky Sugar range.
At P&W, each new brand design project is a thrilling challenge that pushes our creative boundaries and inspires fresh thinking. We love the opportunity to dive into a brand's identity and bring it to life in ways that resonate with both the client and their audience.
Our creative process is designed to be collaborative and thorough, ensuring that every aspect of your brand is thoughtfully considered. Here’s an “in a nutshell” look at how we bring your vision to life:
1. Client Brief & Brand Discovery
We start by getting to know your brand inside and out. Through in-depth discussions, we explore what your brand represents, your values, and what sets you apart. You know your brand best, and we’re here to absorb every insight you share. This step sets the foundation for a design that truly embodies your identity.
2. Competitor Analysis
Next, we analyse your closest competitors in the industry. This helps us identify opportunities to make your brand stand out while ensuring it connects with your target audience. Our goal is to create a brand that’s not only unique but also meaningful, something that leaves a lasting impression.
3. Design Exploration
Once we’ve done our homework, the design work begins. Our team develops initial concepts for your logo, wordmarks, symbols, colour palettes, and supporting icons that align with your brand's story. Nothing is “off the shelf”, each element is thoughtfully crafted to reflect your identity and appeal to your audience.
4. Presenting Concepts
We present 3-5 logo concepts, designed by different members of our team. With a range of experience levels, from fresh, innovative designers to seasoned experts with nearly 20 years at the company, our team offers a broad spectrum of creative perspectives. And we always include a “wild card” option, our "Marmite" concept, a bold take that may surprise you and open up new possibilities you hadn’t considered. Each concept is accompanied by a mood board to give you insight into our thought process.
5. Feedback & Refinement
After presenting the concepts, we sit down with you to discuss what you like and what you’d like to tweak. It’s rare that a concept is perfect right out of the gate, and that’s all part of the process. Typically, we go through one or two rounds of adjustments, ensuring the final design aligns perfectly with your vision. We can also animate your logo and create different versions for social media or monochrome needs, whatever it takes to make sure you’re 100% satisfied.
6. Delivering Final Files
Once everything is approved, we provide you with a comprehensive package of all the files you need. Whether it’s JPGs, GIFs, RGB files, or CMYK files for print, we ensure you have everything you need to launch your brand with confidence.
By following this process, we make sure your brand stands out in a crowded market while staying true to its core. It's more than just design, it's about bringing your vision to life in a way that resonates with your audience and creates a lasting impression.
